Q: What side effects are associated with Juvederm Voluma?

A: FDA-approved Voluma has a strong track record of safety while also providing volume and lift. Typical side effects are usually mild and temporary, and may include:

Mild itching
Swelling
Bruising
Tenderness or irritation around the injection sites(s)

These side effects should resolve within 1-2 days after your procedure. To minimize potential side effects, we recommend abstaining from alcohol, aspirin, and ibuprofen for three days following the procedure and longer should you experience persistent side effects or take blood thinners. An ice pack can also help in reducing any swelling or bruising.

Q: When will I see my results?

A: Typically, you can see noticeable results immediately after a Juvederm Voluma filler treatment (though results can vary).

Q: How long will my results last?

A: HA facial fillers typically last for 6-12 months, although your results could vary. Some patients see Juvederm Voluma results that last for over 2 years. The longevity of your results will depend on several factors, including sun exposure, lifestyle, how quickly your body metabolizes the filler, and the health and elasticity of the skin. Q: Does a Juvederm Voluma treatment hurt?

A: Filler treatments are generally well-tolerated procedures and typically take just a few minutes to complete, depending on how many areas are treated. Because Juvederm Voluma contains the numbing agent lidocaine, most patients report feeling nothing more than small pinpricks. Some patients will also describe the sensation as similar to a pinch or bee sting, while others reported no pain at all. And during and after the injections, most patients experience little to no discomfort. We also offer a variety of options, such as topical numbing cream for patients who are especially worried about pain during treatment.

Q: Is there any recovery time after a Juvederm Voluma treatment?

A: After treatment, you are free to return to most of your normal activities. You will also be allowed to use make-up and skincare products on the same day of your treatment. You can expect some swelling or redness at the injection sites, which are temporary side effects that resolve themselves within hours after treatment.
