As you age, you might notice that your lips start to lose volume and small vertical lines form above the upper lip. Fortunately, there are ways to address these changes around the mouth to restore a more youthful appearance.

At Vital, we offer a variety of anti-aging cosmetic treatment options designed to target this delicate area of the face. Juvederm Volbella® is a hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler specifically formulated to improve the appearance of your lips.

Our certified health professionals can help you turn back the clock with customized treatments that do not involve anesthesia or downtime afterward. Contact our location for more info.

WHAT IS JUVEDERM VOLBELLA?

Approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in May 2016, Juvederm Volbella is an HA dermal filler that is injected for subtle enhancement and correction. Hyaluronic acid is a natural product of the body that helps the skin retain moisture.

The synthetic form of HA in Juvederm fillers is very similar to the HA produced by the body, ensuring natural results when the procedure is performed by an experienced injector.

Volbella is just one of the options in the Juvederm line of dermal filler. Other Juvederm products used at Vital Dermatology NJ include:

Voluma XC: Adds volume and definition to cheeks and jawline
Vollure XC: Reduces lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth, such as smile lines and nasolabial folds
Ultra XC: Restores lip volume and reduces the appearance of some wrinkles

WHAT DOES JUVEDERM VOLBELLA TREAT?

Juvederm, as a lip filler, is mostly used to treat fine lines and wrinkles around the lips. It is also used to create more definition in the lips. It is appropriate for patients who have noticed lost volume in the lips or those who have never had sufficient fullness and would like to add proportion to this feature.

Volbella is also a good choice for smoothing away perioral lines (fine vertical lines that appear above the upper lip and are also referred to as lipstick lines or smoker’s lines).

In addition, we use Juvederm Volbella as a tear trough treatment, adding subtle volume under the eyes to reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. This area has traditionally been difficult to address, but with the addition of smooth HA fillers like Volbella, we have been able to achieve very nice results for our patients.

WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR A JUVEDERM VOLBELLA TREATMENT?

The FDA has approved Volbella for use in patients over the age of 21 who want more lip fullness or treatment for fine lines around the mouth. Patients with perpetual dark circles under their eyes can also find refreshment with Volbella treatments. The procedure is appropriate for men and women and safe for all skin types and tones.

DYSPORT

Frowning, squinting, and smiling leave behind fine lines and wrinkles over time. Neuromodulators can be injected directly with a tiny needle into the muscles responsible and work by reducing crease-causing contractions.

DERMAL FILLERS

As we mature, loss of volume leads to wrinkles, prominent nasolabial folds, thinned lips, exaggerated jowls, and marionette lines. The natural deterioration of underlying bone and soft tissue leaves a hollowed, aged appearance. Fillers injected below the skin surface can correct age-related volume loss.

LASEMD

LaseMD is a fractional laser treatment that can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns. The new and improved LaseMD is a non-ablative fractional laser for rejuvenation and pigmentation from Lutronic.
